Maia NeroAttitude & Dreams Art & Poetry Book
A beautiful art & poetry book that works in harmony with the artists visions of nature having travelled to Europe, Venezuela, as well as Machu Picchu, where her paintings are inspired by nature and her poetry works in harmony to accompany the works of art.
Some of her collections are of Monotypes - etchings that are transferred from plate to acid free archival paper, somewhat impressionistic as she enjoys working in daylight.
The artist also included several works that are from her collection in gouache where she learned to work in this medium while studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology, receiving her degree in Textile Surface Design.
Several pieces in the book work under her title: 'Woman with a Certain Attitude' appear almost cubistic or as she describes, her style -
divisional symmetry.
Many current works on this site, in the Nature Portfolio, were painted during her residency at Saint Mary's on the Lake, with the residency invitation by the Paulist Fathers, OPENINGS, which fosters artists creativity to work independently, and also transcend through evening conversations on their individual progress uniting artists of different cultural backgrounds. This is an exceptional opportunity that opens the heavenly grounds on 72 acres of historical lakefront property providing artists to work independently.
Maia enjoys being on the boat-dock that overlooks the scenic and tranquil Lake George an inspiration that transcends her creativity and finds a peacefulness to her natural ability to blend colors and paint in different mediums such as acrylics, oils, monotypes and gouache.
