I lived most of my adult life in NYC where the vibe of energy, people rushing past, subways, tall buildings a life of constant change, while you think you're standing still, the obvious is movement is a always happening. "Excursion 2 Freedom" is one of my favorite works, it"s a piece that encompasses those feelings of the fast pace wether on a subway platform or walking over a bridge watching runners or cyclists the competition alone is pure energy.
I was at Lake George a beautiful vista where I was painting during this summer 2025 accepted to my artist residency for two weeks, painting everyday feeling the joy of focusing on my passion when I realized many of the artists I have met over the years were returning to NYC and I wasn't. In this painting I find myself thinking of my journey, the pace I kept while I resided in Brooklyn Heights, after having lived in NYC, here I could see from my roofdeck the Statue of Liberty, The Verrazzano Bridge, The Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, and lower Manhattan's sky scrappers and skyline.
